Massac County Sheriff Office issued the following announcement on Jan. 8.
On 01/06/19 a report was made to the Massac County Sheriff's Office of a Theft from the 600 block of May Ave. Later in the day it was reported that someone was on the property in the 600 block of May Ave. A Deputy located 33 year old Cody Atkinson, of Metropolis, on the property. Atkinson was arrested for Criminal Trespass.
On 01/07/19 Deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Metropolis St. During the search, Deputies located several items reported missing from the property on May Ave. Additional charges of Theft over $500 were added.
