1. Presentation of Good Neighbor Certificates: Mike & Sally Duppert and Elizabeth Boudreau.

Mike & Sally Duppert and Elizabeth Boudreau were presented Good Neighbor Certificates by Supervisor Shallenberger for their outstanding civic effort by picking up rubbish as they take the daily walks. By their example they serve to inspire others to take pride in the communities where they live. Trustee Hranka spoke briefly about how he feels it’s important for the Township to recognize its citizens.

2. Presentation of Audit Report for fiscal year April 1, 2017 – Mar. 31, 2018 by Zach Lauterbach

Zach Lauterbach & Laurie Johnson reviewed with the Board the outcome of the confusion this year with Comptroller’s office questioning the requirement for “Full Audit” (every four years) vs Non-Audit “Compilation Report” on year’s in-between. Until this year a Full Audit was done every four years and Compilation (required communication) done on the off years. The Compilation Report presented at the September 17, 2018 meeting, per the comptroller’s office, will not meet current guidelines therefore triggering the need for Audit update to meet that guideline.

While they will continue to advocate for re-consideration of this requirement due to the additional costs to townships, this year there is additional billing to meet that requirement. The Audit report is much the same as the Compilation report with the exception of what is included in the beginning of the report. One area of concern this year has to do with fund transfers referring the board to pg. 7 regarding a Permanent Transfer and the need to have the board discussions and a vote of approval included in the regular monthly minutes. This allows the bookkeeper to move the money from one fund to the other and acts as proof of invoice for the amount transferred that can be attached to a copy of the check.
