UNION COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY: Cobden Man Sentenced to 22 Years for Child Pornography

Union County State's Attorney issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Charles Edward Gordon (DOB 9/8/1960) of Cobden, Illinois has been sentenced to total of twenty-two (22) years in Illinois Department of Corrections on two (2) counts of Possession of Child Pornography, both Class X Felonies. Gordon will also serve three (3) years to life of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as Parole) and must register as a sex offender for life.

In pleading guilty, Gordon admitted to possession of photographs containing children under the age of 13. Gordon was arrested in August of 2018 following an investigation by Cobden Police with assistance of the Illinois State Police.
