Metropolis Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.

From the Office of the Director of Public Safety: Arrest Summary, October 21-27, 2018;

October 23, 2018

At 3:42am, A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a purple Chevrolet HHR for loud exhaust on 10th and Market. A computer check showed that the registration belonged on a red Jeep. A computer check on the driver, Dakota E. Richardson,21, Metropolis revealed that he was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for failure to appear reference an unlawful use of weapons charge. The Sergeant also observed a small child asleep on the back seat unrestrained. Richardson was arrested on the warrant and charged with failure to restrain a child, and unlawful use of registration. Richardson was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Amanda E. Faslo,42, Metropolis was arrested in the 200 block of W. 5th St. Faslo was wanted on two warrants. The warrants were issued by Massac County for Domestic Battery and Criminal Damage to Property. Faslo was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 24, 2018

At 12:20am, A Metropolis Officer observed Donald Ray Gilbert,50, Metropolis walking out of Huck’s. The officer was aware that Gilbert was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Union County, IL for Retail Theft. The officer approached Gilbert and informed him that he was being arrested for the warrant. Gilbert fled on foot and a chase ensued. After a couple of blocks Gilbert attempted to climb a fence. After being warned to stop which he ignored, a Taser was deployed. Gilbert was then taken into custody. Gilbert was charged with the warrant and resisting arrest. Gilbert was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

A Metropolis Sergeant stopped a green Ford for traffic violations on Catherine and 10th St. A computer check on the driver, Paul S. Tabb,31, Metropolis revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. The Sergeant could also detect a strong odor of Cannabis. Tabb was arrested and a search revealed a set of brass knuckles in his pocket. A search of the vehicle found a bag containing 24 baggies containing Cannabis as well as some other substances. Tabb was arrested for Driving while suspended, Possession of Cannabis with the intent to deliver and unlawful possession of brass knuckles by a felon. Pending the drug analysis by the ISP Crime Lab additional charges are pending. Tabb was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

October 27, 2018

A Metropolis Officer stopped a white Hyundai SUV on Ferry at 6th St. A computer check revealed that the registration had been cancelled. A computer check on the driver, Shawna Gail Ingram, 36, Metropolis revealed that her driver’s license was suspended. She was arrested and charged with driving with cancelled registration, driving while license suspended and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. Ingram was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The Metropolis K-9 Officer stopped a gold colored Chevrolet on Ferry at 11th St., for a defective headlight. A computer check revealed that the driver, Lonnie R. Harrell,43, Metropolis had a suspended driver’s license. Harrel was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Dept. for processing. He was released on bond.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
