New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board met August 9.

President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of August 9, 2018, to order at 6:00 pm.
Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Ross, Widowski, and Hill. Bain and Craig were absent. Administration present: Mr. Nighswander and Ms. Armstrong. Vistors present: Nathan Board, LaNesha Board, Andrew Smith, and Melissa Smith.
Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to approve the minutes of 07-12-18 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 07-12-18 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $23,152., carried.
Administrative Reports: Calendar; Menu; Enrollment; HVAC system
Motion by Ross seconded by Widowski, to approve the tentative FY19 JAMP budget, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to approve the Speech Disproportionality Self-assessment Plan, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Widowski to approve the FY19 New Simpson Hill tentative budget, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to convene to closed session at 6:32PM to discuss:
•The placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(10)
•Student disciplinary cases 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9)
•The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(1)
•Collective bargaining matters between the public body and its employees or their representative, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(2) carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Hill to resume to open session at 8:28 pm, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to accept the Collective Bargaining Agreement (2018-2021) between the New Simpson Hill Board of Education and the New Simpson Hill Education Association, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Ross to accept the resignation of Brian Chaney effective immediately, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Widowski to employ Cady Ross as a classroom aide for the 2018-19 school year, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to employ Donna Bloodworth as a part-time aide for the 2018-19 school year, carried.
Motion by Widowski seconded by Hill to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for teacher positions for the 2018-19 school year, carried.
Motion by Hill seconded by Ross to adjourn, carried.
