Village of Cobden Board of Trustees met August 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order:

Village President Paul Z. Tomazzoli called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call:

Upon roll call, the following Trustees were present: Patrick Brumleve

Elvis Pearson

Austin Sellars

David Stewart

Absent: Jean Britt

Alma Gomez

Also Present: B. J. Hale, Jacob Sanders, Jesse Vicente, Chad Eads, Cherry Connolly

Minutes of the August 6, 2018 Regular Meeting:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Stewart, to approve the Minutes of the August 6, 2018 regular meeting as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Zoning Permits:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Pearson, to issue Zoning Permit No. 958-A to Marjorie Stadelbacher for a carport. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Approval of Bills and Salaries:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Sellars, that presented bills in the amount of $36,562.54 and regular salaries be approved for payment. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Budget Report:

Motion was made by Pearson, seconded by Stewart, to approve the Budget Report for the period ending August 14, 2018, as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Line Item and Other Transfers:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Pearson, to authorize line item and other transfers as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Truth in Taxation Public Hearing – Proposed Tax Levy:

Village President Tomazzoli called the Truth in Taxation Public Hearing to order at 6:03 p.m. There were no comments from the public. The hearing ended at 6:04 p.m.

Ordinance No. 2018-980 – Tax Levy:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Pearson, to pass Ordinance No. 2018-980 An Ordinance Levying Taxes For All Corporate Purposes For The Village Of Cobden, Union County, Illinois For The Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2018 And Ending April 30, 2019. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Village Clerk’s Report:

Motion was made by Sellars, seconded by Pearson, to approve the Village Clerk’s Report for the period ending July 31, 2018 as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Village Treasurer’s Report:

Motion was made by Pearson, seconded by Sellars, to approve the Village Treasurer’s Report for the period ending July 31, 2018, as presented. Upon roll call, the vote was:

Ayes: 4 – Brumleve, Pearson, Sellars, Stewart

Nays: 0 – None

Absent: 2 – Britt, Gomez

Motion declared carried.

Monthly Police Report

The Police Report for July 2018 was presented.

Letter from Flamm Orchards:

A letter from the Flamm Orchards family was presented. The letter expressed their gratitude and honor for being chosen Parade Marshal for the 2018 Peach Festival Parade.

Adjournment:

Motion was made by Brumleve, seconded by Stewart, that the Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees be adjourned. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
