Anna Jonesboro Community High School District 81 Board met Aug. 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School held a Special Meeting on August 30, 2018.

Upon roll call at 6:00 p.m. the following members were present. Dr. Teske, Mr. Hughey, Dr. Blakely, Mrs. Boget and Mr. McGrath.

Also present was Superintendent Wright and Principal Detering. Dr. Blakely was acting secretary.

On motion by Dr. Teske and seconded by Mr. McGrath to approve the agenda as written. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Dr. Blakely and seconded by Mr. McGrath for the Board to enter into closed session at 6:03 p.m. for the purpose of student disciplinary cases. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(8) On roll call, all members present voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Mr. McGrath seconded by Mr. Hughey to return to open session at 6:09 p.m. On roll call, all members voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Dr. Teske and seconded by Mrs. Boget to uphold the original 10 day suspension imposed against Student G by the administration and based on evidence presented to the Board of Education during closed session to expel Student G until the conclusion of 2019-2020 school year, with the stipulation that the expulsion be held in abeyance during such time that the student successfully participates in the Regional Safe School Program and completes the requirements for graduation. On roll call, all members voting yes. Motion carried.

On motion by Dr. Blakely seconded by Mrs. Boget to adjourn the Special Meeting at 6:10 p.m. All members present voting yes. Motion carried.

The next regularly scheduled board meeting is Monday, September 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Superintendent's Office.
