Massac County Unit School District #1 Board of Education met July 21.

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of Massac County Unit School District #1 was called to order in the Board Room of the Massac Unit #1 Board of Education, located at 401 Metropolis St., Metropolis, IL 62960, at 5:30 PM by the President, Mr. Don Ulrich.
Roll call:
Present: Mike Blasdel, Don Koch, Mike Pullen, Don Ulrich
Also Present: William Hatfield, Superintendent
Lisa Monkman, Ass’t Secretary to the Board of Education
Absent: Tracie Berry, Cindy Davis, Scott Deming
Public Comments – None
At 5:35 PM a motion was made by Pullen and seconded by Blasdel to go to closed session to consider information relative to employment, appointment or dismissal of specific employees or officers, collective negotiating matters between employers and employees or representatives; to discuss litigation – probable, imminent, pending or filed. Roll call: Blasdel, Koch, Pullen and Ulrich voted yes. Motion carried.
With a motion from Blasdel and a second from Pullen the Board voted to return to open session at 7:14 PM. Roll call: Blasdel, Koch, Pullen and Ulrich voted yes. Motion carried.
With a motion from Koch and a second from Pullen the Board voted to employ the following: Brad Goodley, MCHS PE/Health, Ass’t Football Coach, and Ass’t Track Coach; Vernon Case, Maintenance; Tony Rinella, MCHS Head Track Coach; Cody Smith, MCHS Agriculture; and Brandon Thompson, MCHS Boy’s Golf Coach. Roll call: Blasdel, Koch, Pullen and Ulrich voted yes. Motion carried.
With a motion from Pullen and a second from Blasdel the Board voted to approve the 1 year leave of absence for Kristina Cromeenes for educational purposes. Roll call: Blasdel, Koch, Pullen and Ulrich voted yes. Motion carried.
With a motion by Blasdel and a second from Pullen the Board voted to approve the Superintendent’s Contract and the Assistant Superintendent’s Contract as presented. Roll call: Blasdel, Koch, Pullen and Ulrich voted yes. Motion carried.
At 7:16 PM with a motion from Pullen and a second by Koch the meeting was adjourned Roll call:
