Massac County Emergency Management Agency issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.
A national alert test for both WEA (Wireless Emergency Alert) and EAS (Emergency Alert System) will take place on September 20th at 1:18 PM CST. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will issue a Nationwide Wireless Alert, testing the Presidential WEA capabilities. The test message will will be available on all compatible cell phones.
