Johnson County issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 27, a half-mile portion of the Gary L. Haller Trail in the Mill Creek Streamway Park in Lenexa will be closed for a trail maintenance project.
The trail is closed between two tunnels under the railroad tracks located near the trail access points at 19803 W. 87th Lane, and the access point at 18459 Prairie Star Parkway. This closure will allow maintenance crews to install a two-inch overlay to this portion of the trail, and is expected to be complete by the end of the day, Wednesday, Aug. 29. There is no detour for this closure.
