Johnson County issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
The Board of Election Canvassers voted today to certify the Johnson County election results. Monday morning, the board met to determine which provision ballots would be counted, which would be partially counted and which should not be counted, based on state statute. Following board action, the approved provisional ballots were tallied and added to the unofficial final results reported on Aug. 7, Election Day. After reviewing the combined results, the board certified the Johnson County election results. The Johnson County Election Office posted the results on its website. All Kansas counties send the certified election results to the secretary of state's office.
The Election Office live tweeted the canvass meetings. Residents can follow information from the meeting and actions by reviewing tweets from the Election Office.
