Graduates earn 550 degrees, certificates from Shawnee Community College

About 35.3 percent of the 550 degrees and certificates handed out by the Shawnee Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Ullin conferred 149 certificates and 45 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 114 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 86 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 72 certificates in Welding Technology/Welder.

The college enrolled 1,824 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
