Report: Dongola spent $9,680 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Dongola Unit School District 66 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Union County school district spent $10,119 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,680 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 280 to 276.

Dongola's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
