Report: Cobden spent $9,280 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Cobden School Unit District 17 is down 0 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Union County school district spent $9,283 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,280 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 597 to 517.

Cobden's spending in 2016-17 was 28 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
