Report: Century spent $10,081 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Century Community Unit School District 100 is up 29 percent from five years ago, according to a Southern Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Pulaski County school district spent $7,806 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,081 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 426 to 372.

Century's spending in 2016-17 was 22 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
