Egyptian Community Unit School District No. 5 Board of Education Met March 15.

The meeting was called to order by Jeremy Greenley, President @ 6:00 p.m.

The roll call was as follows:

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Tim Koch, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. All vote yea.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Tim Koch, to approve the bills and payroll. Authorization was also given to fulfill payment to Everard Construction upon pending approval. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Tim Koch, to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Investments. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Justin Schultz, to reimburse the Imprest Fund in the amount of $1,515.00. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Jeremy Greenley, second by Terry Shafer to renew membership in the Illinois High School Association for the school year 2021-2022 and to designate the high school principal as the official representative. Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Tim Koch to honorably discharge the following non-certified personnel due to uncertainty of funds: Camille Bagby, Alma Banks, Emmalee Bigham, Janice Bigham, Norlisha Carthell, Wilma Edwards, Alyssa Caballero, Meghan Henderson, Rachel Honey, Kourtnee McHughs, Erin Miller, Skylar Pecord, Bobbi Smothers, Gwen Steele, Van Steele and Jena Story. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Jeremy Greenley to employ licensured personnel as per attachment. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, abstain; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 4, Nay votes 0, Abstain 1. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Terry Shafer, second by Jeremy Greenley for the nonrenewal of non-tenured teacher, Kathryn Myers. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Justin Schultz, second by Charlie Cox to employ Evan Dreessen as Music/Band Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. A motion was made by Charlie Cox, second by Justin Schultz to employ Callie Jackson as head high school softball coach for 2020-2021 season. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Justin Schultz, second by Tim Koch to employ Emmalee Bigham as assistant high school softball coach for 2020-2021 season. The roll call vote was as follows: Charlie Cox, yea; Jeremy Greenley, yea; Tim Koch, yea; Justin Schultz, yea; Terry Shafer, yea; Yea votes 5, Nay votes 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Justin Schultz, second by Terry Shafer to approve the Blue Cross/Blue Shield renewal for the 2021-2022 school year. A motion was made by Tim Koch, second by Terry Shafer, to adjourn the meeting at 7:06 p.m. All voted yea.
