FOIA Request to Johnson County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Southern Illinois News have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the Johnson County Clerk.

The request, dated January 14, 2025, seeks access to a list of candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections. Specifically, we have asked for details such as the candidate’s name, the date they filed their candidacy, and the office they are running for.

As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
