City of Metropolis Ordinance Committee met Dec. 22.

Moved by Alderman Jeremy Holley and Seconded by Alderman Cord Koch to approve the minutes of the previous meeting held 12-8-25 as presented.

The amendment will eliminate handicap parking no longer needed and correct the language and improper coding in the ordinances.

Alderman Koch questioned if the reserve parking space at the former First Church of God at 1101 Girard Street should be removed since it has been converted into commercial business. Alderman Neill felt the reserved parking was for the pastor and no longer needed.

Moved by Alderman Jeremy Holley and Seconded by Alderman Chad Lewis to recommend to full Council to adopt Ordinance Amending Title VII Traffic Code, Chapter 72, Parking Schedules, Schedule III. Handicapped and Disable Veteran Parking, of the Code of Metropolis
